Workspace Settings

This dialog box allows you to specify workspace settings for log file analysis.

General

Url site

Your domain name. Multiple url addresses can be separated with semicolons. Like 'http://site.com;https://www.site.com'

Index file

A directory index file is the default page the server will display to the client when no page is defined in the URL. Multiple files can be separated with semicolons.

Page names

Type url. Windows machines are not case sensitive, but Unix system are case sensitive in the file system.

Load Virtual Domain field

Load subdomain field for analysis.

Bandwidth

This setting determines to use or not the receive bandwidth.

Reports

Do not display text after the question mark (?) in URL

Some of sites use the question mark to transmit data to and from the server. This information is often not relevant, and Web Log Explorer can automatically remove it use this option. If not removed, then references to one page with different query strings will appear as separate pages in your reports. Some sites depend upon query string values to distinguish between separate pages.

Show internal referrers (Referrers, Sites report)

To avoid your site to be found in referrer report, set this option to off.

Show referrers from Search Engines

If this option is set referrers that are URLs from the search engines will be shown in referrer report.

Match case keywords

Click this option if you want to perform a case-sensitive keyword lists

Match case users

Click this option if you want to perform a case-sensitive user lists

Show "No Referrer"

If this option is set "No Referrer" item will be shown in referrer report.

Visitor Sessions

Use Visitor Sessions bookmark to specify the length of visitor sessions and how to track them.

Tracking the Visitor Session ID

You can track by visitor chosen one of three methods.

Visitor Session Timeout

Specifies the number of minutes a visitor can be inactive before the session is considered terminated. The default value is 30 minutes.

Date filter

Using this filter you can select to view the lines which fit the certain date interval and should be analyzed.

Log File Storage

Inclusion of the given option allows, to put your log files in storage and to analyze them later.

Filters

Filters allow to specify which lines from you log files should be analyzed. They allow you to do deeper and more specific analyzing. In case you want to read large amount of log files, it would be advisable to use filters to save system resources.

International

If you web server doesn't log time in your time zone, you should enter the time difference here.
